Description / Itinerary:
Your journey begins with the splendour of South Africa, in the amazing city of Cape Town. You travel along the stunning Gar den Route to fabulous Durban, then on to Johannesburg after some spectacular game viewing in Kruger National Park. Then it is off to Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park in Botswana and finally to Kenya and Tanzania and the world famous reserves of Amboseli, the Masia Mara, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.
Days 1-4 Cape Town
On arrival in Cape Town transfer to your hotel. Cape Town is one of the world’s most spectacular cities. During your stay there will be a morning tour of Table Mountain, the Malay Quarter and the City. (Mountain cableway ticket is not included and is weather permitting). You take a half day tour of historic Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschoek for wine tasting and spectacular scenery – this a ‘must do’ excursion. Your hotel is centrally located near shops, restaurants and nightlife. There will be ample free time to enjoy Cape Town’s shopping, beaches and sightseeing.
Days 5-7 Sabi Sand Game Reserve
From Cape Town you fly to Mpumalanga, and your long awaited safari in the famous Sabi Sands. Over the next 3 days you will encounter the African bush on morning and evening game drives in open safari vehicles with professional game rangers. Enjoy this rare and unforgettable game lodge experience.
Days 8-10 Victoria Falls (Zambia)
Your adventure continues with a direct flight to Livingstone in Zambia. Your hotel is right on the banks of the Zambezi River. Sundowners this evening will be on board the majestic African Queen as it plies the mighty Zambezi. The following day tour the famous Victoria Falls and visit an African tribal village.
Days 10-12 Chobe Botswana
Transfer by road to your lodge in Botswana. For the next three days you will be captivated by the amazing wildlife of Chobe, the home to the world’s largest remaining population of elephants..
Days 13-14 Johannesburg
After breakfast, transfer back to Livingstone airport for your afternoon flight to Johannesburg. Here you will stay in the popular shopping and business district of Sandton, time to catch your breath, relax and take in the local area. You will also have a half day Soweto cultural tour during your stay.
Day 15 Nairobi, Kenya
From Joburg you fly to Nairobi, Kenya. It is a short transfer from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the Eka Hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure.
Days 16-17 Amboseli National Park
Depart Nairobi and drive to Amboseli, best known for its unrivalled views of Mount Kilimanjaro and its local elephant population.
After lunch at your lodge take an afternoon game drive with sundowners to view the sunset over Kilimanjaro.
Day 18 Karatu, Tanzania
Leaving the incredible scenic land of Amboseli behind, you will begin your journey into Kenya’s equally charming neighbour, Tanzania. Travel to Arusha and enjoy lunch before continuing across the Great Rift Valley to just outside Karatu, in the foothills of the extinct volcano, Ngorongoro.
Day 19 Ngorongoro Crater
An early start to the famous Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. Reaching the crater floor as the sun begins to rise, you will be amazed at this natural phenomenon.
The Crater is home to about 25,000 animals and is one of the last places in Tanzania where the Big Five can be seen.
Day 20 Serengeti
Today you transfer to the famous Serengeti National Park and the Kati Kati Tented Camp. This 15 tent camp is perfectly situated right in the heart of the Serengeti action.
Days 21-22 Serengeti National Park
Using the Exclusive Mobile Camp (EMC) in the Serengeti gives you the opportunity to move with one of the world’s most amazing phenomena’s, the Great Migration. This camp follows the migration all year round. The tents are comfortable, the food delicious and the real advantage is being so close to all the action. Please note itineraries may change slightly depending on the time of year.
Days 23-25 Masai Mara
Today cross back into Kenya from one famous park to another as you arrive in Kenya’s Masai Mara. The Karen Blixen Camp is situated on the edge of the National Reserve in the exclusive Mara North Conservancy. This beautiful camp has 22 richly furnished tents and offers an authentic ‘yesteryear’ experience for guests.
Day 26 Nairobi
After breakfast, your game drive takes you to the airstrip for the flight to Nairobi where you are transferred to the Eka Hotel for your last night on tour.
Day 27 Depart
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight
